Kyle & Lucy

I had the great pleasure of photographing my friend Lucy and her fiancee Kyle yesterday up in northern Indiana.  It was so good to have them since it was my first time taking engagement pictures and I was a bit nervous.  They rolled with me when I was a bit slow working with my camera and trying to get a good scene set up, and they always had positive and encouraging things to say.
Landon came as my assistant, and he was so good at helping me look at the scenes, setting Kyle and Lucy up, and holding props.  Best assistant ever.

These are the first set that I have finished editing, but there will be a few more.  I had so much fun taking pictures, and I have to tear myself away from editing because I enjoy it so much!

This photo shoot really made my whole week....I love seeing two people that are truly loving and sacrificing for each other, working things out, talking, laughing, and building each other up.  Kyle and Lucy are so perfect for each other and they are an inspiration to other couples.

Enjoy!

Love,
Leah

Vintage Engagement Pictures

i found this on carl zoch's flickr photostream.  it's so beautiful.

i'm a little excited and nervous because i'm taking some engagement photos of some good friends today.  this is my first time doing photos for non-family members, and i'm a bit pumped.
(don't worry, they have a real photographer who is going to do engagement and wedding photos.) :)

it's just so encouraging to be using my degree lately with some freelance projects and photography opportunities.  i love art and i love finding and making beautiful things.

have a beautiful day my friends.

coaster love

these coasters are so unique and would be perfect on any coffee table (ideally it would be a vintage scratched up wooden table or a trunk).
i found these italian stone coasters on Meadow Tea's etsy shop.

it's so neat to go to a home that has practical pieces (like coasters), but they're artistic and little works of art in themselves....it's so refreshing.

well we're celebrating Landon's birthday tomorrow!!  we're going to see Due Date, then out for some good food somewhere (we haven't decided where yet).  i'm buying him a harmonica for his birthday and i'm so excited!  now he'll play that with me when i play guitar and we sing together.

also, today we are 1 month away from leaving on a much needed vacation with my sister and her husband...it's going to be epic.

have a wonderful evening my friends.
love,
leah

beautiful home

I am in love with this beautiful home I found via Apartment Therapy.

I can't wait until Landon and I have our own home and we can build and add and change anything we want!
That will be so nice.

Today I only worked from 7-10am, so it feels like I have the day off.  Getting a ton (and I mean a ton) of laundry done.
Why does that laundry pile seem to be nice and small one day, and overnight it turns into this giant, heaping monster which menacingly taunts me?

I'm also getting to see my momma sing in her university chamber choir tonight.  She is an amazing musician and vocalist, and thanks to her, all four of us kids in the family play multiple instruments, can sing in harmony, and can read and understand music.
I'm so grateful to have such an appreciation for music because of her.

So basically, it's a good day: I voted, got Starbucks, I'm relaxing, and I can't wait to get that dumb laundry done.

hey look, it's that guy from the Hangover movie!

A happy halloween we had indeed.
My sister and her husband joined us in Indy for the evening as we donned our garb and headed out for some fun.

Landon and I went as Aldous Snow and Jackie Q. from Get Him To The Greek.  Basically a rockstar and his wife.  Landon was hardcore with leather pants, and he actually dyed his beard black to go with the costume!  I wore some crazy heels and basically baby-stepped around Broad Ripple....but it was a blast!

Jon and Hannah were Scott Pilgrim and Ramona Flowers complete with guitar and hammer...Hannah was even recognized by a few people which was awesome since the movie wasn't very popular among the popular crowd.  But if you haven't seen that movie, you should.

Since it was a Sunday night, Broad Ripple wasn't too crazy which was perfect since we don't like to get too crazy at night.  We had some awesome food and good beverages, and we got to watch pretty much the entire Steelers/Saints game.  I think we went to a different place for each quarter.

We met some funny people...we saw a guy dressed as Alan from the Hangover movie, a couple that went as pacman and ms. pacman, and a group of four that were the characters from celebrity jeopardy.

We had fun and it was so cool to dress up and do something different than staying in for a little change.
Hope you all had a fun weekend and are ready for this week!

Love,
Leah
