monday...

Good morning, friends.  Happy Monday and happy February!

We had a whirlwind weekend, and week too.  We found out we are able to stay in our condo and we are signing another lease soon!  That made life a lot easier around here...no packing!  We dearly love our little home, and I am excited to stay one more year.

On Friday, some high school girls from our old church back home came to stay with us for a girls' weekend.  We did facials, nails, watched some movies, shopped, had coffee, and ate some treats.  I think they had a good time, and I loved having some girls around for a bit.  We are already making plans for a summer trip to lounge by our pool and take bike rides on the Monon.  Ah, to be young again.  :)

Today, I get to see one of my best friends for the day.  She is truly inspiring to me and is always encouraging.  We will get our traditional Flying Cupcakes...3 years running!  And I believe we will be watching Downton Abbey episodes.

I also got my hair colored for the first time in 3 1/2 years.  I went dark again like I used to in the old days, and I love it!  Landon loves it too and I think it brought him back to those olden days as well.  It's a perfect color for these winter days.

On to another good week, I think.  We have fellowship with good friends two evenings, I have yoga on Wednesday which has been so good, and on Friday we are heading to Louisville to see my Aunt and Uncle and cousins.

I am trying to focus on quiet moments this week.  Life seems to get so crazy for us, and it takes a conscious effort to slow down.  But it's so worth it when I do!

Happy Monday!

*I am grateful for my toasty warm home when it's chilly outside.

*I am grateful for being able to bundle up my baby and myself and get outside on chilly day.

*I am grateful for being raised in the Midwest and a loyal ND football fan.  GO IRISH!!!

*I am grateful for family with whom I can be myself.

*I am grateful for friends that encourage me.

*I am grateful for allowing fewer things in my home and life and how it's making me happier and more content.

*I am grateful for open-mouthed wet kisses from my baby boy, and hearing his voice sweetly say "mama."

*I am grateful for the freedom we have right now.  To move far away if we want, travel, and not be tied down to one place.

*I am also grateful for this fine city we call home, and if we stay here longer, I'm down with that.

*I am grateful that I can work at home, in my bedroom, in my pjs if I want.

*I am grateful for my Abba Father.  He provides for me and cares deeply.  Call it a crutch if you will, but I won't live without it.

*I am grateful for my husband, for all he does for me, and how he loves me so unconditionally.

I am just so happy today...there are so many things to be grateful for in my life.  I refuse to let the world get me down, and I choose joy instead!  So happy monday, friends.

Monday monday...

Finn was so precious during his bath time last night, I couldn't help but take some pictures.  I can't wait to put all these pictures I've been taking of his first year onto a disc and save for him when he gets older.  Why are babies so cute?  Is it that they're little miniature people, or fat and chubby, or that they giggle?  Who knows, but I love interacting with Finn.

This week, I'm starting Project Simplify which I mentioned in this post.  It's going to feel so good to declutter this month and get rid of unnecessary things!  Landon and I have been talking lately about having very little in the way of "things" so we can be mobile and ready to travel and move around if we want...which we do. :) Plus, my mom always says it's easier to keep your house clean if there aren't very many things to maintain.  So true!

After a rough week last week, I'm looking forward to this week.  My attitude constantly needs adjusting as there are so many little things that can be frustrating about having a little baby.  I think that I must be needing a good lesson in patience, because I'm continually being challenged in this area.  Oh life.

Tonight, we're having homemade chicken soup since we're all feeling a bit drained and somewhat stuffy, and I'm so excited to go to the library to pick up this book.  I've heard that it's like a Coen Brothers' movie in a book form.  I'm all ready for a good read.

Have a great monday!

Today has been a bit of a bum...
*I had to come home from an out of this world weekend with my sister, brother, and cousin. (More on that later.)
*It's been raining/sleeting all day and very dreary.
*My tummy has not been very agreeable lately and we need to have a serious talk.

But, there's a bright side to every dark day...

*I got to snuggle in bed and take a much needed nap.
*My tummy says it will try to behave better tonight.
*I won an amazing give away from Lynn at Hearted Girl!!  I'm so excited because it's a beautiful painting that will go nicely in our new place.
Can I just say that I have so loved getting to know Lynn through her blog.  She is so fresh and fun and writes beautifully.  She has left some of the most encouraging comments on my posts and has really made my day more than once.  She's awesome!

If the tummy cooperates, I might go get something hot to drink and read the rest of my book..almost done!

I hope you all had a good weekend and a good Monday so far.
