This video was perfect for today.  I love Alexi Murdoch's songs...
I got out the guitar and started learning it, and I was surprised at how easy the picking is.

I'm working on a new logo for myself (graphics & Etsy) and for business cards soon.
Here is the mock up I did today...I'm really pleased with how it's looking so far.

The sun is shining, the air is fresh, I have a wonderful home and husband, and I am just so content today.  It's been a relaxing week so far and I am loving these drawn out days and trying to savor them.

Here are some recent designs I've worked on. I decided to make some decorative wedding "certificates" for the two weddings we attended in July. I was sort of inspired by some of the old embroidered ones I've seen in my Grandma's house and my mother-in-law's house. I love the idea of remembering such an important day through decor. They were printed on watercolor paper to give a bit of texture.

And I'm currently working on a business card design for my brother Ezrah. He's working as a pedicab driver in Denver and wanted some catchy cards to get into people's wallets. He's kind of a vintage guy, so I went with some vintage inspired colors and fonts. He said the mock up looked legit, so I think we're on the right track. Slogan is courtesy of my sister Hannah..she's pretty quick on the draw.

final decision!

So I finally made up my mind!  I decided to take the leaf I designed for my own wedding invitation, and use it in my design logo.  This leaf is one of my favorite designs, and I love the font so much.  It is simple and clean, and I love blue so much.  So I'll be working on getting some business cards printed and start getting my name out in the wedding world.  I need to print some invitation samples and maybe even be motivated enough to create a sort of brochure or booklet to give out.  

It's hard to feel inspired some days.  Right now I feel like I'm in a design rut.  It's funny because I feel inspired away from home, with great coffee, great music, and sweet lighting.  That's when I feel the most productive.  So my goal is to get myself in those settings more often so I can get some good work done!
