It has been a crazy last few weeks.  This is pretty much how I'm starting to feel...everything is blurring together and I can't focus on one thing.  Moving, job, packing, projects, keeping up with house work...

Fortunately, I have such an amazing support system of family and friends.  I found out that we are having 7 of our family members come help move on Saturday, plus a friend from church is bringing a big truck.  My mom is staying longer to help me clean, unpack and organize too!  I am so overwhelmed and amazed.

If I had nothing else in this world except my husband and my family, I would be happy.

So, with packing and moving, my posts might be a bit scarce towards the end of the week.

Hope you all are enjoying your Monday.

80s party

Over the weekend, I got to hang out with my sister, my awesome cousin Rachel, and my brother Jonah.  We went to a rockin' 80s party hosted by my new boss for the photo editing job.  It was a total blast!  We danced, played euchre, met some awesome new friends, oh, and I may have jumped on a trampoline at midnight whilst eating meatballs.
I'd have to say that was probably the most fun party I've been to in a very long time.

Packing up...

REFUSE (SUMMER 09)

I wish we were only packing light for a sweet little vacation...instead, I'm going to pack up everything we own!
We are officially signing the lease on our new condo tomorrow!!  Is this premature celebration?
Maybe, but unless something drastic happens between now and 12pm tomorrow, we are golden.  I still might hold my breath a bit I think. :)
I am so excited for our new place...we'll be moving next weekend, and we'll have our own garage, patio, and front porch.  And the owner is throwing in a grill for free...summer grilling patio parties, here we come!

Can't wait to show you pictures!

Have a fabulous Wednesday evening my friends.

Today has been a bit of a bum...
*I had to come home from an out of this world weekend with my sister, brother, and cousin. (More on that later.)
*It's been raining/sleeting all day and very dreary.
*My tummy has not been very agreeable lately and we need to have a serious talk.

But, there's a bright side to every dark day...

*I got to snuggle in bed and take a much needed nap.
*My tummy says it will try to behave better tonight.
*I won an amazing give away from Lynn at Hearted Girl!!  I'm so excited because it's a beautiful painting that will go nicely in our new place.
Can I just say that I have so loved getting to know Lynn through her blog.  She is so fresh and fun and writes beautifully.  She has left some of the most encouraging comments on my posts and has really made my day more than once.  She's awesome!

If the tummy cooperates, I might go get something hot to drink and read the rest of my book..almost done!

I hope you all had a good weekend and a good Monday so far.

Family

Today I get to spend time with my mom and dad.  They were originally coming to help us pack and move, but since that got pushed back, they're still coming and we're just going to hang out.

I love my parents so very much.  They are always there to help out, they have some really wise advice, and they put family first.  I am so close with my whole family...best friends with my sister, very close with my brothers, and I give credit to my parents who really sought to make our family function together instead of going off and living our lives separately in the same house.

I think my dad and I are going to some running shops while my mom gets her hair done, then we're off to go out for dinner, then a comedy club afterwards.  Should be a great start to the weekend!
I'll be visiting my sister and cousin tomorrow, so I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

Love,
Leah

Homemade bag...

So this is what kept me busy all afternoon yesterday.  I found this sweet tote bag tutorial from Design*Sponge, and had to try it out!
This bag was actually pretty easy to make once I figured out the pattern...I'm horrible at measurements and patterns period, so it was a bit of a challenge to make sure I got it right.  The straps are a bit different than the pattern calls for too.  I actually used a belt I got from Goodwill for 99¢!  Landon was kind enough to help me get the grommets tightened up.  I think I'll look for a thinner belt next time, or just use fabric straps.
But now I have a great little bag for books, groceries, knitting, whatever!
Today I am going to knock out the rest of my book.  It's due at the library and they won't let me renew since there's such a big waiting list.  Sheesh.

Grown up stuff...

I feel like this week has been the week that I've grow up.  Nicole, over at Adventures in Love & Happiness did a vlog a few weeks back where she answered the question about when she felt she was a grown up.  I thought a long time about that and I realized I couldn't nail down an answer.  I still felt like...not a kid, but not an adult??
But this week...wow.  Totally feel like an adult now. :)  Here's why:

*We were disappointed in our new apartment, so we decided to keep our eyes out for something better.  We didn't really think we'd find anything, but last Friday this amazing property plopped into our laps.  It's a rental condo, but more like a home.  I made calls, dealt with the realtor, and went with Landon to look.  We LOVED it!!  So, I dropped Landon back off to work then rushed home to fill out our applications.  Then I drove to the realtor's office to drop them off and had the most grown up conversation I've ever had.  It felt like some older, much more sophisticated lady was speaking through me and I was just along for the ride.  Weird, I know, but I felt so comfortable talking over details with the realtor. (We'll know for sure on Monday if we got it, so I'll give you more details later.)

*After the realtor, I had to talk with our property manager.  Then I had to call and cancel our application for the other apartment since we would have had to go in and sign the lease today.  Then I had to call and cancel utilities that had been set up at the new place and transfer them back here.  Geez....

*I've worn lipstick 3 times in the past week.

*I was walking out of H&M after buying a pair of very adult-ish black skinny jeans, and a group of young high school girls were walking in.  I saw them give me the quick up and down, and realized that they dismissed me off as old!  I saw it in their eyes! Haha, I just laughed inside.

*Oh, and I'm 25 now. :)

Needless to say, I have never felt this grown up before, but I like it.
I feel like this is a new chapter of my life and I'm ready to go!

A wonderful evening...

Yesterday was the most wonderful Valentine's Day.
*We went to Canal Bistro in Broad Ripple and had some super delicious mediterranean food.
*I braved some magenta lipstick and loved it.
*I'm pretty sure Landon wore the same nice sweater as he did on last year's Valentine's dinner...and that's another reason why I love him. :)
*While Landon was at work, I made a love fort from some inspirational images I had seen online last week.
*We watched a movie and had some snacks in our pajamas and ended a busy and wonderful day.

Today is my 25th birthday, another reason why I love February, and we'll be keeping things low-key since we went out last night.  Maybe some cheesecake, a surprise Landon won't tell me about, and my yearly tradition...watching Groundhog Day!!  My all-time favorite movie with my all-time favorite actor Bill Murray. :)  I'm so happy today...there are so many things to be thankful for and I don't feel like I deserve any of them.  God is so good.

Have a wonderful day everyone!  I hope your Tuesday is fantastic!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

{Dear Landon, You are my most favorite person.  You make me laugh, you're patient with me when I'm mad, you listen to me, you love me, you take care of me, and you are always there for me.  I love you so very very much.  I can't wait for all the amazing years ahead of us...getting to spend each day with you.
Love,
Leah}

To all the lovers out there....have a wonderful day with your special someone.  We're going out for mediterranean tonight, and I'm planning a special dessert surprise for Landon when we get back!  I can't wait!!
Have a great day!

Dreamy Dresses

Aren't these dresses from Sarah Seven so dreamy and beautiful?  Not only does she do amazing work, but the Portland-based designer donates a percentage of her sales to charity.  That's awesome!
Check out her blog here as well.

I hope you have an amazing weekend!  Maybe you'll be getting an early start to your Valentine's celebrations.  Landon and I are going snowboarding tomorrow with his company.  I'm excited to get out my board again and I'm working on a sweet playlist to listen to whilst I glide down the slopes.
It will include Vampire Weekend, Modest Mouse, Frightened Rabbit, MGMT, and Phoenix.
Happy Weekend to you!
