Grown up stuff...

I feel like this week has been the week that I've grow up.  Nicole, over at Adventures in Love & Happiness did a vlog a few weeks back where she answered the question about when she felt she was a grown up.  I thought a long time about that and I realized I couldn't nail down an answer.  I still felt like...not a kid, but not an adult??
But this week...wow.  Totally feel like an adult now. :)  Here's why:

*We were disappointed in our new apartment, so we decided to keep our eyes out for something better.  We didn't really think we'd find anything, but last Friday this amazing property plopped into our laps.  It's a rental condo, but more like a home.  I made calls, dealt with the realtor, and went with Landon to look.  We LOVED it!!  So, I dropped Landon back off to work then rushed home to fill out our applications.  Then I drove to the realtor's office to drop them off and had the most grown up conversation I've ever had.  It felt like some older, much more sophisticated lady was speaking through me and I was just along for the ride.  Weird, I know, but I felt so comfortable talking over details with the realtor. (We'll know for sure on Monday if we got it, so I'll give you more details later.)

*After the realtor, I had to talk with our property manager.  Then I had to call and cancel our application for the other apartment since we would have had to go in and sign the lease today.  Then I had to call and cancel utilities that had been set up at the new place and transfer them back here.  Geez....

*I've worn lipstick 3 times in the past week.

*I was walking out of H&M after buying a pair of very adult-ish black skinny jeans, and a group of young high school girls were walking in.  I saw them give me the quick up and down, and realized that they dismissed me off as old!  I saw it in their eyes! Haha, I just laughed inside.

*Oh, and I'm 25 now. :)

Needless to say, I have never felt this grown up before, but I like it.
I feel like this is a new chapter of my life and I'm ready to go!

Being a grown up can be a really wonderful thing... and not because of the stuffiness and fixed ways that are associated with being 'grown up', but because more than ever your own skin starts to feel like a worn in pair of your favorite shoes. It just fits.

Since you are 25 you are officially old now :)

I'm glad you found an apartment you like! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. And it always makes me laugh when teenage girls dismiss me as old.

PS Thanks for the link!

How fun! Those are very grown up things:-) I feel the same way too...some days I feel very adult-ish and other days I feel like I'm still a teenager playing dress-up! Young at heart, I guess! xoxo
