family picnic...

Tonight, we went on a picnic at a small park nearby.  It was such a beautiful evening to be outside with a cool breeze and warm sun.  I stopped by Trader Joe's for the first time today and grabbed some stuff to throw together to eat and drink.  Such a neat store by the way!

Finn has been eating solids for awhile now, and his little face gets so messy with his new food.  Love it!  We had the best time relaxing together as a family, without any distractions or worries.  I'm so thankful to be wife to such a good man and mama to such a sweet boy.  Life is good!

We are getting ready for another weekend away....always fun things, but we are busy through July!  We are making the days count, though, and enjoying them as much as we can.

This weekend, we are celebrating Landon's brother and his bride-to-be with a shower for her and a bachelor party for him.  Finn gets some extra fun time with his Grandpa and Grandma and Grammie and Gramps too while us parents are busy.  I'm excited for the shower since it's going to be at a tea room.  I've never done anything like it before and it should be so much fun.  I think Landon is planning some fun activities for the guys.  Also, he's getting fitted for a tux tomorrow too...I can hardly wait to see him in it at the wedding, he is going to look so hot! :)  I just bought my dress yesterday and I am needing to find something cute for Finn to wear.  We are definitely going to need a family picture.

Up in the next weeks are a baby shower, then VACATION!!!  We are heading to the Gulf Shores after a dear friend's wedding in Alabama.  It is going to be so relaxing and laid back...fishing, swimming, eating, sleeping, reading, swimming with dolphins maybe!  Really can't wait for that week.

Life is simple and good right now, and I love it.

a bbq baby shower...

Over Memorial Day weekend, my sister's good friend and I threw a baby shower for her.  She is always doing wonderful parties for others, so it was her turn to be blessed.  Thank goodness for pinterest!  I found some awesome inspiration on there as we planned a BBQ themed shower.

Tori, Hannah's friend, planned the entire menu out with delicious grilled chicken, veggies, fresh fruit and salad, and amazing cupcakes for dessert.  I found some neat vintage style soda pop, and we had a few different  delicious mixed fruit drinks that Tori made.

Also, our husbands were SO helpful getting things set up, grilling, and assisting with clean up...thanks guys!

The weather was supposed to be very warm and muggy that day, but fortunately it turned out gorgeous and cool for the party.  We had such a good time, and Hannah was blessed with so many wonderful things.  One thing that friends did for my baby shower, and we did for Hannah's too, was to have everyone bring books to start baby Hoefer's library instead of cards.  Hannah loved reading when she was little, and now her own precious baby will grow up with lots of books too.

I am so excited to meet my little niece or nephew very soon!  Finn will have so much fun with his new cousin, and I predict they shall grow up to be the best of buds. :)

lately

*homemade spinach goat cheese pizza.  our inspiration is from Archer Farms version at Target...so good!  our attempt was a pretty fair success, I would say.

*my little boy, his sweet face helps me deal with all the not fun things that come my way.

*we found the coolest blown up potato chip evah!  (yes, this is what sunday nights look like at our house.)

*getting super pumped for my sister's baby shower this weekend!  i have had the best time putting decor and details together with some fun DIY projects...pictures will be taken for sure!

*i finally made a bracelet from an inspirational one I found and pinned awhile back from free people.  i love it and it will be a great piece for the summer.

*since Finn is now eating a couple small solid meals each day, we have a ton of fresh fruit sitting around.  we skipped right over the rice cereal and went with natural, low allergy fruit to start.  he loves bananas so very much, but we're having him try a variety of things.  little buddy is really starting to bulk up now. :)

lazy days...

Lately, Finn and I have spent a lot of time outside on our porch chilling and (me) eating homemade fruit popsicles.  The weather is absolutely gorgeous these days, and we are drinking it all in.  Tomorrow it's going to get up to 90 though, so we'll be heading for the pool for sure!

We are staying home this weekend for a lazy couple of days...then we're out of town every weekend except one until the second week in July!! Crazy, but we love making the most of our summers. :)
