Engagement picture taken almost 2 years ago by Raymond Siler! Wow.

We are SO excited!  For awhile, we weren't sure what to do for our first anniversary gifts for each other.  Then, we finally decided a themed photo shoot would be awesome.  So we found an amazing photographer couple from Goshen, Indiana who fit our ideas perfectly!

Check out Imagination Photography by John and Janie Yoder.  Their work is amazing and they've even been featured on Green Wedding Shoes (which was my inspiration source for our own wedding.)

I talked with Janie tonight to go over some thoughts for our shoot, and it was like she was reading my mind!  They seem like such an awesome couple with a passion for photography, and we were totally on the same page for ideas and inspiration.

It's crazy how fast these past couple of years have gone.  It seems like just yesterday that we got engaged, and now we're a month and a half away from being married a whole year!
Ahhhh...I can't wait to spend our anniversary day with my wonderful husband getting our special day documented photo-style.  Can it please be October 3rd now??

Three reasons...

Three reasons why today is great.

1. I don't have to work today!  After a long week last week and a long day yesterday, my boss has given me the day off.  There are so many things I want to get done today and probably won't, but it's nice to have some time to myself.  Maybe I'll catch up on some reading...

2. We are enjoying some cooler weather today.  I drove home last night with the windows down instead of the AC for a change and today should be the same!  No humidity thank you.

3. I'm getting my eyes checked...which doesn't seem too great, but it's been long put off and I finally have time to get it done.  Maybe I'll swap my frames for some sweet vintage ones...

There's nothing more enjoyable and relaxing than a long, lazy afternoon with a good book and a comfy spot to curl up. Sunday afternoons are the best for this I think. I wish Sunday afternoons would just go on and on.

Once we have our own little place all to ourselves, I am so looking forward to making a space like this (I specially love the last image)...a space where I can get away from the busy world and retreat into an introvert day.

So enjoy your lazy Sunday afternoon and read a good book, snuggle with your love, or watch a movie in bed.

Last weekend I coaxed Landon to go to a Shakespeare in the Park performance up in Noblesville. I'm so proud of Landon for trying out things with me that he normally wouldn't be too interested in. But he's a trooper and I love him for that! I love that Landon and I are different in some areas, and yet we can come together on common ground...meshed together with my lover boy. Love him!

We decided to make some homemade bruschetta and take it as a small dinner picnic at the park. Of course we grabbed some of our favorite Pomegranate soda from Whole Foods to go with...ah I could drink that every night.

I used some vine-ripened red and gold tomatoes and a sweet vidalia onion we picked up at a little farmer's stand near our apartment. Tossing in some fresh basil and balsamic vinegar, and paired with some french bread and parmesan slices, we had the perfect little supper.

We had such a fun little evening watching the Love's Labor Lost and enjoying our supper together in the lovely summer night. I love going out and doing things that don't involve movies or malls or massive crowds, just a simple night instead.

Here are some recent designs I've worked on. I decided to make some decorative wedding "certificates" for the two weddings we attended in July. I was sort of inspired by some of the old embroidered ones I've seen in my Grandma's house and my mother-in-law's house. I love the idea of remembering such an important day through decor. They were printed on watercolor paper to give a bit of texture.

And I'm currently working on a business card design for my brother Ezrah. He's working as a pedicab driver in Denver and wanted some catchy cards to get into people's wallets. He's kind of a vintage guy, so I went with some vintage inspired colors and fonts. He said the mock up looked legit, so I think we're on the right track. Slogan is courtesy of my sister Hannah..she's pretty quick on the draw.

Blitzen Trapper

So we saw one of our favorite bands last night at the Vogue Theater in Broad Ripple. It was...amazing! After some refreshing drinks at a place right by the theater, we went in and got some sweet seats with a great view of the stage.




My brother Jonah came over to see the show with us.



It was a great show. We saw two opening bands, The Bears of Blue River, and Avi Buffalo. Both great bands, but not as amazing as Blitzen Trapper! But I might be biased...













What a great night...

Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow...

God is so good and we are so amazingly blessed by His love and faithfulness.

This week has been such a blessing to me. I was able to spend this week off of work with my favorite people in the whole world and share and laugh like I haven't for so long.
We shared some amazing time up at my sister Hannah's, which is always so relaxing and fun. We just hung out, read, had a fire, grilled, drank coffee, played guitar hero, wave runner fun, and talked.
I think talking is so important to me...I would rather talk with someone and have a conversation than sit and watch a movie together. Whenever my family is together, we have some pretty good conversation time. I love it so much...it makes me feel so close to others when I have meaningful dialogue with them.
So family was a blessing this week.

Then, Landon and I received some much anticipated and prayed for news that he is being hired as an employee for the company he's been at since October. Basically, Landon was hired through a temp agency to work for GPD (the engineering firm) back in October. So he was technically an employee of the temp agency, therefore not receiving paid holidays, vacation, or any benefits. GPD hires most of the temps on after they've worked for 6-10 months and brings them on as full benefit employees. So we got the news this week that GPD is hiring him on, and he'll start as their employee on Monday! The benefits package is amazing, he gets a much deserved pay raise, and Landon likes what he does and the people that he works with. We are so happy! I'm so proud of Landon because he has worked SO hard these past months. He puts in overtime every week, yet still comes home to spend quality time with me. I love him.
So job stuff was a blessing this week.

My heart is so full tonight...this has been such a wonderful past few days, yet I'm sad it's coming to an end. I had to drop my little brother Ezrah off at the airport tonight to fly back to Denver. We only see him about twice a year, and it was hard saying goodbye again. He's grown up so much, and he is such a kind and caring person...I love him so much. I took him out for sushi tonight, his favorite dish. I think Hannah took him out earlier this week too. :) But we had a good day together relaxing and bumming around Indy. I'll miss him.

But tomorrow I get to see Jonah! And we're all going to a Blitzen Trapper concert in Broad Ripple. What a fun evening that should be. I shall savor my time with him until he goes back to school in Texas.

So I guess this is long enough, but I just needed to write out how I'm so happy this week. God is so loving to us. I grew up thinking that God was this distant bearded man seated on a white marble throne. His eyes were hard and he would look down and judge us. But this is such a wrong view! I'm learning more and more that God is involved in each of our lives SO much! He cares about every part of us, every situation we're in, and every pain or trial we face. He is for us, not against us. And it's just things like this week that show me His love.
